Hodis Half Note

When it comes to live music in Fort Collins, it doesn’t get better than Hodi’s Half Note. Located in Old Town on
College Avenue near LaPorte, Hodi’s has been on the scene since February, 2007. Formerly the Starlight, it is now
one of the main live venues in the city hosting music 6-7 days per week.
The first thing you notice upon entering Hodi’s is that it is much bigger than it looks. In fact, they can handle
270 people and do so on a regular basis. To your right, you will find a long bar with a shorter one to your left.
You will also find a pool table and other diversions. There is seating at the bars and at couches scattered about.
You will be standing for the shows, however.

KRFC Community Radio

When it comes to Live & Local, nothing is better on the airwaves than KRFC. Based in Fort Collins,
they are capable of reaching out to 400,000 potential listeners in Northern Colorado. KRFC plays an
eclectic mix of music and talk that appeals to a wide cross section of the community. Most of the great
programs you hear on KRFC are produced by over 120 volunteer programmers. These include:
- Specialty Music Shows and Music Mix Shows
- Public Affairs
- News on the Range
- Live @ Lunch
- Your Own Show
Most specialty music shows are two hours in length and are scheduled weekly.

Even Design

even design is…well… it’s difficult to explain. Founders and artists
Eric Cooke and Erin Fahey describe their work as “multimedia custom
guitars,” but you really need pictures to understand what they’re
doing. Eric and Erin, ( the “e’s” in even design), are a happy couple
and partners in crime.
Their career’s as guitar artists began in 2008
when they spontaneously decided to customize Eric’s 1985 Kramer
guitar. The combination of Eric’s technical understanding of guitars
and Erin’s lifelong passion for multimedia creations resulted in an
instrument that surpassed their expectations and inspired the birth of
even design.
even design guitars are created using a variety of
mediums including collage, paint, stenciling, metal, feathers,
glitter, crystals, bullets, and assorted hardware. The result is
visually delicious works of art that are also completely playable.
The spirit of their designs runs the gamut from whimsical, to classic,
to deviant, to kitschy, to glam.

Kelly Aspen

Across the Rocky Mountain region Kelly Aspen is well known for her angelic voice, intense songwriting
and unique style. A native Texan, Kelly was literally moved by the music when her mother fell in love
with Colorado, inspired by the songs of John Denver. Kelly's trademark voice has an innocent yet sensual
sound, dynamic range, character, and richness. Kelly's outgoing spirit and obvious passion have gained her
the reputation as being “Colorado's Country Sweetheart”.
Kelly's music is a mix of mainstream country with bluegrass and rock influences. She's drawn to complex musical
productions that encompass the acoustic country sounds of the banjo, mandolin and dobro; a sound that her producer
Ilya Toshinsky (former Bering Strait member) has brought to life in her 2007 album release titled “Chasing Butterflies”
with cuts from hit songwriters including Billy Montana, Jamie O’Neal and Kris Bergsness.
